Splashing water

It has been quiet for a while.
The water was forgotten or not so interesting anymore.
But a few days ago Fluffy rediscovered his game 'splashing water'.
He made a huge storm in the jar of water….splashing the water all over.

When he is finished, my job is to cleanse the remains of the storm.

Birth stamp

Today I received in the mail, the birth card of Norah Jane, born on the 11th of October.
A lovely beautiful girl.
I designed the card and the stamps for her.
Inside the card, the baby's name is written in the banner.

As I did for for her brother Olaf.

Fluffy caterpillar2

Some days ago I spoke one of my friends M.
I shared about the weird looking caterpillar, I had found.
Then she said,  she had seen not so long ago, the same one!
To make sure, she send me a photo of the caterpillar.

This photo is so cute, showing all of his legs while he is climbing a grass.
So nice all these little legs…dangling and holding on tight.

The photo is made by Marja Kraamwinkel.(thanx for sharing)

Fluffy caterpillar

Yesterday I was going with my friend F. to the supermarket.
Out of my wheelchair, the world viewing from a lower perspective, I noticed the low and creeping crawly things on the street.

We passed a inkblack beetle
and then a weird looking green fluffy caterpillar.
I took him with me in a plastic bag…to find out more about his name.
The caterpillar suddenly had another higher, view from this plastic bag,
seeing a supermarket from the inside.
Later at home I opened the bag in my studio.
First he was a fluff ball, which unfolded slowly when he thought to be safe.
He started walking over my table and later he inspected a bag of spicenuts.
After some photo's, we put him outside under an oak, which he seemed to like better than supermarket nuts.

His name?  Pale Tussock Moth, Meridians borstel, ( Calliteara Pudibunda)

Stamps Janosch

Last week I was inspired to look for some birdstamps on the web.
On my search I found these beautiful stamps and ordered them from a collector.
I really love them.
Drawn by Janosch a well known German illustrator.

They are so cute and I love these drawings.
if you have some nice ones in store…just sitting there…
you can do me a great favor by sending them to me.   :-)

Squirl

A few weeks ago I slided away on my jacket, which was lying on the floor.
After that, I could not stand anymore, because my knee hurt very badly.
After a check with the doctor and some X-rays later, it said there was a crack in my bone.
So they put a cast on my leg.
aaauch!!!!!
Try to pick up my life from the perspective of a wheelchair.
It took me a while to deal with this view.

Yesterday I thought I try to pick up some doodling.
plenty of time and no inspiration.
The squirrels are having a great time in my neighbors walnut tree.
I wondered what it would look like when they are having a timeout.

Running snail

A while ago, early in the morning, I saw while looking outside,
a snail  exercising…running over the glass window.
I had to run quickly to grab my camera, so to be in time…
that he had not run away, before I could take a photo.

instead of a stamp

This week I received an official letter from the town hall
The letter has no normal stamp anymore…
This one above is what it is today.

Instead of stamps, the mail is delivered with a kind of printed stamp.
A cheapish poor looking printed stamp, in a bad design.

Not like some years ago, when you received a snailmail letter with at least a glued
stamp with the head of the queen and this last year the head of the king, making a letter a real letter.
I would expect from an official letter more.
I now looks like a printed matter, you would throw away easily when you don't look thrice.
Somehow this is a severe degradation in the mail.

You say…of course email, whatsapp, twitter and other social media….I know, I know…
We are going to find it normal these days…don't even notice anymore…unimportant...

I think its an impoverishment of our country.

I want (glued)stamps !!!!!!!!!!!!

Woodpecker molting

The young woodpecker visits so now and then the bird feeder.
I noticed that he is molting…the red spot on his head is kind of changing.
Black spots are coming through the red.

Looking for water

Fluffy a while ago….
looking for water in the bucket.
As you will notice the floor is wet from his paws…

A while ago he collapsed and all the water was on the floor.
Its a pity I was not there to make photo's.

Great or small Tiger caterpillar

This morning I found a caterpillar with a warm fur coat.
I took him with me for a photo.
But he was rather shy and curled himself into a little ball just like a hedgehogs do when they feel not safe.
I waited a a while and yes, he started running away very quickly.
I am not sure he is a small or a great Tiger.
Maybe someone knows?

Ruby Tiger, Kleine Beer (Phragmatobia fuliginosa)
Garden Tiger, Grote Beer, (Arctia caja)
