Almost drowning bumble

 Today I noticed an almost drowning  Queen Bumblebee in the pond. 
He was trying to hold on to a floating leaf in the water.
I quickly grabbed a little branch/stick to drag him out of the water.
I saw his little hairy body panting/gasping for air.

I waited  a while to see what he would do. he started walking a bit along the edge of the water, which seemed to me not safe.

I gave him the stick to hold on. I could feel through the stick the anxious buzzing vibrations as he was in panique. I quickly set him and the stick safely on the edge of a flowerpot. there he was gasping and panting again. I could see his body going up and down.
A while later after the shock, he took his wings.

Restored pond

My pond has gotten a new paint layer.

The paint had gone cracking on several places and even deeper under the paint, due to frost last winter. Before winter arrives, it was best to repair it, so that the frozen water cannot make the cracks even deeper. I'm so glad it succeeded. 

Only with the help of a very kind and friendly neighbour who repaired it all!

Eye

This morning when I looked outside,
I noticed an eye looking at me from the pond
It was a funny sensation this eye peeking out...
wondering what kind of animal was under the water, that belonged to the eye.
The eye even moved a bit around in the pond.

Glass/ice

Last night it has been freezing.
The water in my little pond is looking like a glass window.
Reflections of the sky and clouds in rippling glass.
Slowly the sun is melting the glassy layer.

Bumble

By the movement of the water, I noticed that someone was in danger.
It was a bumble.
Somehow he had fallen in the pond and he could not come out.
When i came back with my camera, I saw that he did not move anymore.
Quickly I made a photo and dragged him out of the water.
It looked as if he did not make it.
But when looking closer I saw him move and stirring his antenne.
After a while he tried to cleanse himself with his legs.

When I looked closer, I noticed that his left wing was broken.
Maybe that was the reason that he fell in the water?
Who can tell.
I looked in the water for the part if the wing that was missing.
Maybe he lost it when he nearly drowned.
But I did not find a missing piece of wing in the water.
Anyhow he was well able to walk.
After a while he crawled in the grass.

Mystical

When I looked this morning to the newly painted pond, together with M.
We noticed that on some places the paint had become white-ish, a much brighter color that the other parts.
I can't think of why or how that happened.
Wondering about that, M. said it was a unicorn...in the pond.
When we looked better it really was, kind of, if you use your imagination.
It even has wings.
The unicorn really makes you wonder.

shimmering lights

Today I filled the pond again with water.
I had been empty and dry for some weeks, because I had to repaint the whole thing.
Today as I filled it with water,
suddenly there appeared these shimmering shining lights in the water!
So beautiful! 

Glass water

The water in the pond looks like glass...

There has formed a lake on a rose leaf.
It exactly shows how lovely summer weather is here.

ice pattern

A beautiful geometric ice pattern on the pond.

As if someone has made a drawing.

Its the last leftover from the icy cold weather.

All the snow has melted and gone now....and hopefully for the whole year.

The well in my pond is beautifully frozen

There is still running water under the icecap.

The birds know exactly where the water is running,

for having a cool fresh drink.
