ice colors

A closer look in the frozen birdbath,
you can see beautiful abstract colors
of autumn leaves shining through the ice and snow

This morning when I awoke,
the garden had a frosted look.
the birdbath at the back of the garden was frozen.

later that day as snow came down,
the birdbath was as a bowl with beautiful snow powder.

I saw robin sitting in the branches of the beech

he was perfectly camouflaged between the leaves
very careful I tried to spot him a little closer...
in his perfect camouflage-suit as a beautiful living beech leaf

birdbath in snow

After the snowfall one of the birdbath had changed into a big snow pie.
robin didn't wear a camouflage suit as usual.

Who could tell,
winter would arrive overnight?

Maybe these crocus are a bit confused.
announcing springtime before winter has come?

making faces

Blackbirds can make odd faces...
and a moment later look at you, as if they didn't.
