Blue-tits almost done

Blue-tits are almost done.
One young is peaking out of the nestbox, looking out to see what's outside of the box.
Mother and father blue-tit flying to and fro with endless caterpillars and other insects.
So good to see a new breed, almost ready for flying.

Coals

The coals have young,
flying to and fro,
in and out,
back and forth
to the nest.

Coal-tit

The coal-tit is busy preparing a nest for a new family.
Fluffy's hair is very welcome to make it soft and cosy!

Blue-tits nesting

The blue-tits decided to take the house near my window.
I have a great sight on the building of the nest.
I saw them bring in straws, moss and feathers.
I even gave them some Fluffy-hair for extra softness.

Flycatchers have young

I heard chirping and screaming out of the nestbox of the flycatchers.
The parents are feeding.
I posted this afternoon to get a better glimpse.
The male is mostly watching as she is flying with the snacks.
The first photo is the male, the others showing the female.

Blue-tits making a nest

The blue-tits have been very busy.
A nest is build right close to my window, so that I have a perfect view on the building progress.
Its nice to see how they use different building materials.
Every time they first perch in the wisteria, and then fly into the nestbox.
By doing so, I can see all the materials they bring in.

The last thing they brought in today were feathers.
So I think the building of the nest is almost done.

Flycatcher has baby birds

The Flycatcher has baby birds!
Because I have not such a great sight on this nestbox,
I was not sure if the nesting and all things around were going okay.
But today I found proof of the feeding of the young birds.

Last year I bought this nestbox with a camera inside.
However, but....., because not any bird was even having an inspection
or having at least one look at it at a all,
I took the camera out, removed the cables and canceled the whole project.
Beginning this year, I placed the box on the fence, in order to put it somewhere
And as life goes like it goes...the flycatcher thought this year...
to pick this camera nestbox, without the camera.
HA Ha!!

Nestbox inspection

Today I decided to have a look inside the nest boxes that had been left by the birds after breeding.

Bluetit nest with one egg unhatched.
some of Fluffy's hair inside.

Caoltit nest, which had been left unattended before there were eggs.
lots of Fluffy's hair inside...and some lovely pink fluff or wool.

Still in?

This  morning when I awoke, I thought " Are they still in?'
I quickly looked, waited if one of the parents would come with a meal.
There he was...having a good meal...a good happy breakfast.
Breakfast is going on all morning, slightly going over to lunch, which takes all afternoon ..
going over in dinnertime, which takes so long till it gets dark.
In short: The parents are flying with meals all day long.
Sometimes meeting each other in front of the door....
checking who is going inside first...which is always quickly decided.

I even got a short glimpse of one of the baby blue tits...who was peeking outside.
I do hope they wait for me when they fly out!
