Sort of bird, but then different

At first sight, you would think there is a bird in the feedingtray.
At least I did, but when I looked again, it walked differently...
Quickly sneaking away in a sort of dribble, mounth full of pieces of cracker that were overdate.

Young blue-tit

So now and than, I see little young birds coming along, having a peek if there is something to eat or going for a bath.
The young blue tits, are not so blue yet as their parents.

Busy feeding

The robins are very busy feeding their young in the open.
Everywhere and nowhere sits one of the 6 young...begging for food.

I can hear them yelling&chirping sometimes, but seeing...no...they are perfectly hidden away under bushes and shrubs or maybe in trees.
One time I noticed the robinmother or father...taking a little timeout on a branch.
Eyes closing just a little moment.

Nestbox inspection

Today I did nestbox inspection in some of the birdhouses.
Most of the birds have taken their wings and the boxes are left with an empty nest.
Although some were not completely empty.
Its always fun to see the nests inside.
Lots of fluffy stuff, made of what?
Fluffy hair...but also colored spots of wool material, beautiful yellows oranges, and purples.
If you click the images, you have a better view.
I found a nest with a left alone egg and a nest with even two eggs.
I think they both are eggs from the coal-tits.

I even found that one nest with young inside!
I had not noticed that the bird was still breeding, or even had a nest inside.
I my opinion it was not even used...
So I shut down the box as soon as possible, hoping I did not disturb the parents.

Pigeon bathing

It's always a lovely sight, when a pigeon is going bathing.
He drops his head under the water, eyes closed...but sometimes he leans too far forward and almost tumbles into the water.
He almost did.
Mostly that happens so quickly...I have not yet pics of that happening.
But I will catch up one day with that.
This morning he was rather stable on the edge of the water, just a little bit off.
He one time swam over to the other side....so funny!

Robins out!

This morning all the robins were gone.
They were gone very early this morning, without saying good bye.
Yesterday they were all bravely sitting at the back of the house, for me not so good to see them all.
or make photo's...because it is too dark inside at the back of the house.
When they were sitting in front of the house, when it was so extremely hot, that was an unique moment, I now see.
There have been 6 little robins in the nest!
One gone out, some days ago, the others five of them, I could see when they were all up front.

It was so nice as well that when I reinstalled the birdhouse for the second time, I arranged a nearby rosebranch over the house and some ivy, to camouflage the house a little bit.
Now the last couple of days the rose started to flower, with beautiful red roses!
That rose did never blossem so beautifully as it does now!
It was such a perfect sight, those little robins with those beautiful red roses arround!

First baby out!

Yersterday it was extremely hot. After having a lot of rain the last weeks, suddenly the weather changed into a very warm hot day.
The birds in the nest had been moving to the front of the birdhouse, I think to get more fresh air.
That was nice for me, so I could have a much better view on the little baby birds.
and make some photo's.
Suddenly, I sat down outside, I saw something pass by, it was a little tiny bird landing under the table.

I could not believe my eyes!
It must be one of the robins....
So immediately I grabbed my camera, thinking meanwhile...This is way too early or not????
Shall I grabb the bird and put it back in the nest?
First I decided to make a better photo, from low perspective.
Such a tiny cute little birdy...with all the fluff on top of his head.
Than the birdy started running before I was able to get him.
Also not knowing if this was a wise decision...I let go of the thought.
He ran under the hedge...and than disappeared.
Later I saw mother and child in my garden.
She had found him...so that is a good thing.
The other birds are still in the nest.
Today less warmer, they all sat in the backside of the nest, not so visible for me to take photo's.
But yesterdays shots are great!
