My little tiny Crested Wren (Goudhaantje)...

Such a cute fast and rapid in its movements,
hardly to catch up with.

When I am in the kitchen I always have company of one of the cats.
They are always sitting on the stairs, curiously inspecting what I am doing.

This time Fluffy is waiting for my meal to be finished.
As if he had not had his own.

Though summer is here, it looks like he did not arrive...
Rainy cold days almost make you forget how summer looks like and feels.

But despite all rainy days, there is coming some fruit on the trees.
The Malus has already little green apples. and there are some currants coloring.
The birds have found and tasted already if they are ripe.

It looked as if he was up to something.
when I saw this Song Thrush coming near my house.

I grabbed my camera, just in case.
Then through the window I could I see him while he did not see me.

He was too and peeling his meal.

Crested wren

Just before getting dark,
(In fact it was already too dark,
so that these 2 photo's were the sharpest and the others all being a blur)
I noticed a very small little tiny bird...approaching the birdbath.
Quick movements....
Grabbed my camera ....a crested wren! (goudhaantje)
Don't see him often.
One of the smallest of the smallest.....
On the top photo you can see his golden yellow crest.

Buzzing May-tree

Everytime when I walk under the May-tree, Meidoorn
I hear a busy buzzing...

BBZzzzzzzZZZZZ zzzz....ZZZZ zzz

The tree has blossoms now and the bees think that's great joy!

A while ago I noticed a Wagtail, (kwikstaart), Motacillidae) sitting in a tree.
He was loud cheeping and tweeting.
It looked as if he was protecting his territory.
Maybe he had young nearby.

Nestbox inspection

Today I decided to have a look inside the nest boxes that had been left by the birds after breeding.

Bluetit nest with one egg unhatched.
some of Fluffy's hair inside.

Caoltit nest, which had been left unattended before there were eggs.
lots of Fluffy's hair inside...and some lovely pink fluff or wool.

Caoltit nest with one unhatched egg

Flycatchers nest with 2 unhatched eggs

A closer look at all unhatched eggs

Robin and I had the same thought today.
I had been to the car wash...and robin had a great splash in the birdbath...
So we are both spic and span now.

This morning is was bingo.
Early this morning, I saw one of the birds in the doorway of the house.
loudly chirping...and father and mother were very busy bringing food as quickly as they could.
Sometimes the father and mother arrived with food at the same time,
the mother bird started flapping her wings...such a lovely sight!

Then all at once I saw one of the birds whoosh....taking his wings...flying in a a nearby tree.
After a while another bird came to the front loudly chirping....
Mother or father kept bringing food.
One of the birds was bending so far forward that it almost looked he would fall out.
That did not happen...he suddenly flew out in a perfect curve...right in the beech tree above.
It was such a great sight.!
The loud chirping...came from all sides now.
Immediately the next bird came to the front door....and soon he flew out.
and then the next one.
I don't know how many birds were inside...but at least I saw 5 flying out!
