blue tit decorating house

The blue tit has rented the blue house.
The nest is almost finished.
He only is softening it with feathers and hairs.
The house has a little window, so while the blue tit was shopping
He gave me a chance to open the little door before the glass window, to have a peek inside.

Later He came back, with a beautiful moustache,
probably hair from my neighbours dog Timo.

robin singing

Fireheart is singing all the time!

Open door

It reminds me of the scripture in the Bible, Rev. 4:1
After this I looked, and behold a door standing open in Heaven!

The natural is so closely related to the spiritual realm.
Many times it is parallel truth.
Like in the parables where Jesus takes situations out of the natural,
putting it in a metaphor.
God is giving open doors, Revelation, visions of Heaven,
Divine opportunities to step into.

small door

I did see a smaller door...though.
probably a buzzard?

flying door

On my way back from a meeting and friends,
I decided to bring a visit to the sea-eagles territory, in the Oostvaardersplassen,
where they have their nest.
On the web cam, you can see one of the eagles is at home,
the other probably 'gone fishing',
I only saw him flying in my minds eye
flying there as a big huge door.

That's how they are called..."a flying door"...because their wingspan is as big as a door

cocoons moved in the glasshouse

Yesterday the new glasshouse for the cocoons has arrived.
The broken glass had been perfectly fixed,
so now ready for the cocoons moving in!

The little red arrows show where the cocoons sit,
waiting for transformation into butterflies.

on the edge

A walk on the edge of life

showwindow house

I was pondering for a while, how to make a new house for the cocoons of the Swallowtail.
(see post march 12-07 and aug, sept 2006)

Having the cocoons in the vitrage-tenthouse, is not sufficient anymore.
Its not easy to photograph, and the chance of having the butterflies stuck in the vitrage cloth, is not so good for their new fresh wings.
so I was thinking about making a kind of glasshouse.
Then I met a very kind man, who offered me a show-window (vitrine), which he kept in his workplace!

Here the cocoons can transform...
and it gives a good opportunity for me to make photos and film!
without bothering much about protection against cocoon-eaters & butterfly-eaters.
or about flying away too suddenly.
Thanx so much Jos!

Sea eagles first egg

A couple of sea eagles is breeding again. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Last year they have had one young,
now again they are breeding.
This is unique for Holland, they only flew over, but never stayed for nesting until last year
On 13 march they have laid their first egg!

The breeding couple is to be seen on the web cam of Staatsbosbeheer.

sun bath

Tommy is visibly enjoying the warm sun rays.

cocoons Papillion

I inquired when the cocoons would come out.
The cocoons of the butterfly Papillion Machaon, or Swallowtail or Koninginnepage
Last year (See posts of August and September 2006)

The cocoons are still sitting quiet and like dead on their branches.
there are green ones and grey/brown ones.
I thought the butterflies would come out maybe may or June,
but now I heard from 2 sides, it is possible they come out end of march or beginning of April.!

I have to to look after them more often.
because I don't want to miss this great opportunity to see this happen!

ladder

The honeysuckle heart(yesterdays-post) brought me a grand idea.
After doing some pruning on my passion flower (passiflora)
and after that trying to remodeling the plant.
I added another arrow, because one was not supporting enough the plant in the pot.
Then I suddenly saw I could make a ladder of the supporting arrows,
by adding the steps of wire
on which to help the plant climb.

a ladder to climb for new growing passion!

hide&seek

The squirrel was playing hide and seek
trying to hide behind the branch.

Of course I pretended not to see him.

heart

Yesterday I discovered that the honeysuckle,
was planning to grow in a heart-shape around the bow
I helped it a bit to shape the heart more clear.

When it goes into blossom with bright orange flowers.
it will become a big fireheart!

While still having my mind focussed on yesterdays moon,

I heard on the news that an eclipse of the moon would happen this night.
So I focussed again on the moon with my camera.
