shift-thinking

Coming out of the nestbox into the big wide world is like a complete shift of thinking and seeing for the little birds.
If they were not going out of their safe dark place, it would certainly mean death...
but going out of the box through a small hole might also mean death.. being eaten, caught or being trapped.. .
on the other hand it also means life, flying, discovering a total new world.
