Blackbird nestmaking

This is what I hoped for, when I made some extra space to my shack.

I would love to have birds come to make a nest in that space.

Yesterday I discovered that Blackbird began with some construction work. Hopefully he continues.

When I posted it this morning I thought to have a quick look at the nest and see if Blackbird has made some progress to his construction.

What I found is, that the nest was lying on the ground. Maybe the wind had blow it off the shelf.

I put the nest back on the shelf and tacked it with some staples back to the shelf.

Now ...see what happens, if he will be wondering, what happened to his nest, back on the shelf.

Squirrel

This is sooo cute!

Squirrel discovered the peanutbutter-jar. I always wonder how Quick they find it.

He seems to really like it. I love the gymnastic pose he is making in order to get close.

Turtle dove

This morning the turtle dove sat there again. This time a bit higher as he tried to catch the first sun ray's coming from behind the trees.

I can tell by his expression that he loves sitting there, with a great view over my garden.

Turtle in spring

 Turtle is really enjoying springtime.

He installed himself to take a pause amidst of the crocus, snowdrops and drops.

I think he really loved it and so did I.

Dove bathing in deep waters

Today was a delightful beautiful springday. Birds chirping all over the place and snowdrops blossoming ...

This dove had also spring on his mind...he on purpose let himself drop into the cold icy water of my pond. A few days ago the water was frozen.

It was not an accident he fell in. I saw him do it more than once, so that I was able to quickly grab my camera. and capture the moment.

Middle Spotted Woodpecker

This morning I noticed a woodpecker on the peanut container. Which I had not seen them doing before.

Also I thought...hmmm... this one looks much smaller than the ones I mostly see in my garden.

When I grabbed my camera he flew away. Some time later he was there again and was able to make some pics. I was sure it was not the normal woodpecker I always see. This one has a white face (the other woodpeckers have a black stripe and black on the head as well) and this one was smaller and also has a longer red stripe on his head...

So I looked it up...It's a middle spotted woodpecker.(Dendrocoptes medius) Never have seen this one before and he is also more rare.

So I was very happy to have this one in my garden!

Squirrel

Almost everyday Squirrel comes along to see if there are some nuts for him.

In autumn, I collected a lot of nuts for him and his mates. When I not forget, I give them a portion every day. They really love it and most of the nuts are stored away someplace, somewhere in my garden in the ground or in the plant pots.

Turtle doves

Is n't it a bit early in the year?....Still freezing during the night times, yet I saw the turtle doves mating.

They were having a good time and it looks like they are planning to have a nest. Also the nuthatch was inspecting a nestbox in my garden.

I'm looking forward to spring too. I'm done with the cold winter.

Frosted

Haven't been uploading for a too long time, due to several reasons. I Hope to be able to catch up again more regularly.

Its freezing during the night and that gives the budding flowers a beautiful sugarcoated look.

Somehow they are well able to endure the cold.

Blue-tit

Yesterday I heard a loud thumb on my glass window.

I looked and as I thought, it was the sound from a bird crashing against the glass, thinking he could fly through. I picked up the bird from the ground and put him in a small box.

It was a blue-tit in total shock...closed eyes..breathing heavily and very fast... so that meant he was still alive.

I took my down-jacket and spread it over the small box to make it dark for the bird, as well as shielding him from the cold wind. So now and then I peeked into the box to see how the bird was doing...still heavily breathing...I hoped and prayed that the blue-tit would survive the crash.

After some more moments of waiting and looking how he was doing, he finally began to look a bit better. Again I tucked him under the down-jacket and waited some more. I was thinking to maybe take him inside the house, pondering if the warmth would do good...

So looking again after the bird I noticed he was more alive and was able to fly away!...

Sigh... (triple times)

Squirrel is digging up nuts

Squirrel is digging up some nuts. Nuts he has stored for so long in my garden under the grass.

So good that he can find them back!

He has such a good memory, or can he smell them where he has put them?

Lightball 3

Things are not always what they look like.

Things are even many times exactly opposite to what has been told for decades.

Taking a perspective from above gives a total different view than looking from the earth. You see the greater picture.

Light uncovers darkness, Truth is revealed in Light.

The brighter the Light, the more is seen. That has been true in the past and it is true today.

Let there be Light!

Woodpecker drinking

It quite rare having the woodpecker come for a drink to my birdbath.

I have maybe seen him doing that only 4 or 5 times. So I was happy to be able to catch it on camera.
