The crocus-seeds are now ready to sow themselves for more crocuses.

Fly catcher

The flycatcher has reserved more than one nest boxes..
I see him tweeting and singing all the time.
Meanwhile he is defending at least 3 boxes.

Also when another bird comes too close, he is chasing them away ruthlessly.
He is quite a temperamentfull bird.

He is sooooo cute!

Yesterday he came again, early in the morning.
seeing if there were more nuts!
And yes I had laid out some more.
He really liked it...and he even did not mind, me coming closer with my camera.

Yesterday I noticed Squirrel around my house.
I put some hazelnuts outside, maybe he would like it and come again!

Today even 2 squirrels were sniffing around!
Most of the nuts were being cut in half...so they have searched them out!
Unfortunately the double glass made some unwanted blurry effects and reflections.
However it made accidentally a kind of bokeh, (kind of blur and haziness) that I like. 

Pied Flycatcher Back!!!!

Having been away on a short trip,
I looked this morning out of my kitchen window, while making my morning coffee.
I suddenly noticed He's back!
The flycatcher is back!
All the way from Africa, he has found my place again.

Its so astounding that such a small bird is flying every year such a long distance.
I made a google search. from Holland to SouthAfrica, is 9.400 km.
And then at the end of summer they are flying back and even the young birds are flying so many miles...
Then when sitting with my coffee, I noticed that the female had arrived too!!!
Both inspecting the birdhouse, very near to my house...
So I have a perfect view on the nest making and in a while the whole breeding thing.

Continuing story Small

Small spend a while up, then decided it was time to go down again.
The way down was so much easier,
Small slided down the grassblade as if it was a slider.

Nesting 2

After a lot of inspection, another couple of coal-tits decided to have a new family in house number 8.
Through my bedroom window I have perfect sight on the house.
Today I noticed that the nestbuilding has begun.
Mosses and branches are now brought into the house.
Such a lovely sight!

They are very busy making preparations for a new family.
The coal-tits have chosen the house in the beech arch. 

Fluffy in hiding

Today I was looking for the Fluff.
I could not find him.
After some more inspection I found him on his new rediscovered spot.

Small 2

Continuing story Small

On a sunny bright day, Small climbs some high grasses to see more.
He always wanted to see what's on the other side.
Going beyond the lake and even beyond the horizon.
Always kind of wondering what's up over there.

Small 1

This is Small.
He is one of the smallest, so that he is rarely seen.
He lives in a very remote area somewhere in the countryside.
His house is carefully hidden under some oak and birch leaves.
Every morning he sits with his cup of coffee in front of his little house.

Its a rainy day.
The rain has carved out a face in my tree.

Fluffy drinking

As I am pondering and breeding on a new story,
Fluffy always feels immediately attracted to the water I use for cleaning my brushes.
I don't know what this is.
All my other cats did the same, as if the pigments of the colours have a special magnetic taste.
