Queen 3
The 8 caterpillars of the Swallowtail (Koninginnepage) are getting fatties.
They have eaten very very well.
All 8 are all together to be seen here.
A few days ago I had to remove them to another stem of the foeniculum,
because the plant was eaten completely bare.
It will not be very long, that they will go into cocoon.
I hope I will be able to follow this again.

Mole 23
Continuing story Mole
They discussed the matter, about what to do,
untill it had become very late and dark.
In between, Mole had returned home to get something to eat and drink.
While they were still talking,
some of the birds had fallen deep asleep.

Mole 22
Continuing story Mole
When they all were gathered together and looked at each others chicks,
Mrs Beetle said angry 'We are trapped! We are cheated'!
'All of us'!
They all looked at each other, started speaking all at the same time,
so that nobody could hear exactly what was said.
The question was.... What to do with the baby chicks?
and where is mrs Tsjick?
It did not look like the babychicks were bothered at all.
they were picking some seeds, curiously inspecting each other.

Queen nr8
After discovering the seven caterpillars of the Swallowtail,(Koninginnepage)
I still inspect the Foeniculumplants, for 'just in case, you never know'.
And Yes!
there was number 8 quitely sitting on the stem of another plant.

Continuing story Mole
Mrs Beetle wanted to ask Mole: How come?
and what had happened to the eggs...and if he knew?...
While she was talking, he saw Hedgehog and one of the Bunnies coming closer.
They too had several chicks coming with them.
He could not believe his own eyes.

Save the Queen 3
When I walked through my garden,
seeking an object for my camera.
I wanted something on macro,
so I inspected my plants for little insects, slugs or spiders
or who-ever wanted to pose for my lense.
Then to my amazement, I noticed the caterpillars of the Swallowtail, (Koninginnepage), (Papilion Machaon) on the Foeniculum (bronzen venkel)
I had seen the Swallowtail-butterfly flying around a while ago
on July 21
I hoped this Swallowtail I had seen, was a she, so that she would lay some eggs.
Now one month later there are 6 big caterpillars and 0ne small one.(last photo)
That makes it to 7 caterpillars!
such a present!

toadstools
To be honest, I can't stand it....
the first signs of autumn already coming.
Its in the air, the scent of fungus,
the humidity all arround in the air.
Though the toadstools are beautiful.
I want them to be delayed for some more time.
Just turning time a little backwards.
It cannot be that difficult.

Poppy-salat
When I walked this morning through my garden,
I bumped on a slug.
He was feasting on a poppyflower.
I never knew slugs like to eat poppies.
I once saw one having phlox flowers.
that was 6 years ago.

square dreamcloud
A friend of mine (F) mailed me about a kind of competition.
for knitting.... urban knitting.
knit or hook a 15 x 15 cm piece
The pieces of all the senders are going to be used to cover a statue.
So all kind of different knitted pieces are all sown together to one garment, I guess.
as I read it I liked the odd idea,
wanted to make something different,
I did not want to use the usual wool or cotton materials
I made my own thread out of a plastic waste bag.
and knitted my 15x15 cm square-dream-cloud out of it.
Just 4 fun.

Mole 20
Continuing story Mole
Mole and the birds had been vast asleep.
Mole had dreamed, he had wings...flying high above the clouds,..like birds.
Suddenly Mole awoke,
someone was calling his name:
'Mole'.... 'Mole'...'Mole'... he heard.
Sleepily Mole opened one of his eyes, and than both.
It was Mrs Beetle calling his name.
At once, his eyes opened very wide.
Next to her stood another babybird.

Mole 19
Continuing story Mole
The babybirds had become very tired, after running all the way to the tree.
They hardly could put one step after another.
Mole thought it would be better to have a break before they returned home.
So he sat down under the tree.
Very soon both birds fell vast asleep on Moles tummy.

Mole 18
Continuing story Mole
When Mole and the babybirds arrived at the tree, where mrs. Tsjick had sold her eggs,
There was nobody to be seen.
Empty spot... mrs Tsjick had left.
All the eggs were gone.
Only the pins and a torn piece of paper were still pinned on the tree.

If the babybirds were not Tsjicks birds,
How come, and what, who, whose are they???
Mole decided to find out straight away.
He went off to go to mrs Tsjick and ask herself.
He rose to his feet, to go to the tree where she sold her eggs.
Funny enough, as soon as Mole wanted to go,
the little birds followed Mole, to come along with him.

Fluffy/Poespoes
Fluffy/Poespoes is doing very well,
I still don't know yet if his name will be Poespoes or Fluffy.
I now name him both names.
Poespoes is somehow funny too, because he is a Tomcat.
Time will tell which name survives.
He is here for about 10 days and he seems to feel very much at home.
he loves to sleep most of the day, and as you can see he loves to sleep on his back.
Bibi is still grumbling as he comes to close.
but they have not yet been in a fight.
So that is not too bad.
They have to get used to each other some more.

Continuing story Mole
3 muffins later,
the birds were no longer screaming and begging for food.
They stretched themselves lazy and content.
As Mole looked better, he noticed the birds had very long necks,
not like the short neck of mrs Tsjick.
Mole stared very puzzled at the extra long necks of the young birds,
meanwhile questioning how this was possible.
