squirrel
Some days the squirrel comes out of hiding.
when they do, I rarely get a chance to catch them for a shoot.
Seems they don't like so much being noticed, always running away very very fast.
This squirrel posed a little while...not noticing me.
trying to find some hidden nuts which he had stored last winter
and drinking some water.
They are so beautiful!

dawn-Live-concert
This morning when I awoke, from the birds concert,
I decided to record a small piece...Live-concert.
So I pushed myself out of bed, before the concert had ended.
Of course it is a very small impression and of course you should listen for yourselves.
The nice thing is that you don't have to travel faraway,
you don't have to buy an entrance-ticket.
Its just outside your door.
And all for free!!!!!!!
Only open your ears and just listen...
Isn't He great!

Morning has broken
Last weeks posts of wakeup calls
remind me of the following song of Cat Stevens
Morning has broken -Live 1973-YouTube
Morning has broken, like the first morning
Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird
Praise for the singing, praise for the morning
Praise for them springing fresh from the world
Sweet the rain's new fall, sunlit from heaven
Like the first dewfall, on the first grass
Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden
Sprung in completeness where his feet pass
Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning
Born of the one light, Eden saw play
Praise with elation, praise every morning
God's recreation of the new day

awakening
When I awoke this morning,I heard the birds singing.
I looked on my alarm, it was 5.30
Some weeks ago....it was 5.55 when I heard them beginning to sing.
and a week later later: 5.45 that they started their morning-awakening-songs.
Every week they rise up a little earlier to awaken the dawn.
After half an hour the sounds of singing fades away,
as if the volume has turned down.
and the sun has turned on.

I think myself with You
I think myself with You,
In Germany, where these cards have been published....
Some have the one-liner: Ich denke mich zu Dir.
I like this text very much...underlining the meaning of the photo.
These cards have no inside text...so that now they can go everywhere,
and you are free..to make your own!
In dutch it would be: Ik denk mij bij Jou

first ladybird
Ladybirds hibernate.
during wintertime, they hide and go into deep sleep, somewhere hidden in leaves or stones..
Its always kind of surprise in spring when I see the first one awaken.
I was weeding some weeds in my garden...
and between the old leaves of a hollyhock (stokroos) there he sat...
or better said: there they sat.... there were two of them.
one went immediately back into hiding again,
a bit too surprised because of the sudden bright light
The other one made a short walk on one of the snowdrops.
and disappeared as well again after a while.
back into hiding.

pigeon synchronization
Looking out of my window
I saw a pigeon doing his exercises in the birdbath...
holding wings up for some time...
then putting up the other wing for a while.
He enjoyed it very much...and so did I
as I waited and looked...
another pigeon, seemingly his mate, also joined the bath.
first observing closely what he was doing...
then joining him with the same passion.
synchronizing his movements as a dance.

Bee party
Fritillaria meleagris
A while ago, I found these flowers in a gardencentre.
Fritillaria meleagris, (kivietsbloem), or (snakes head fritillaria,)
Its a very rare specie.
I remember, they were growing in the wet meadows at my uncle and ants place, where I spend my holidays back then as a child.
So nice to vividly see them still growing there, in my minds eye in the wetlands.
We were not allowed to pick them, because they were very protected.
So that gave a kind of great respect for such a beautiful flower.
As I found them lately in a gardencentre, I just could not resist these flowers to bring them home.
Normally they blossem in april...but mine are already open.
blossoming in speckled purples, whites and in betweens.
