Breaking out

 It  amazes me, that the small, fragile crocus have the strength and power to break out, even when growing under and between stones.

I did not plant them there...This crocus specie makes seeds after blossoming. The seeds must have sown themselves between the stones. And now they come out on the weirdest places. 

It every year reminds me of the power of nature,

Spring

 In a nursery I found these awesome anemones and crocus.

Birds are already having inspection in the nest boxes.

Bulbs breaking out everywhere now. I love spring so much!

Drops on snowdrops

 This morning when the sun broke through...the sundays reflected all the dew drops like diamonds.

It was a mesmerising sight..lots of diamonds glistening in the early light on the snowdrops.

Fishing nuts

      

 

I had thrown some nuts into the water of the pond. 

Today squirrel came along and found some nuts in and around the pond. So I knew he would come back for another nut to find.

He saw some nuts floating in the water...and he tried to fish it out. Some he succeeded. However this nut was a bit beyond reach. He tried to reach very far...several times. 

His paws were too short...

Later the nut floated more to the side...so that he could get it easily.

Squirrel on ice

 This was a week ago, when there was ice on the pond..

It was so cute, seeing squirrel dancing on the ice.

Finding nuts

 Squirrel is hungry, as it has frozen for days. It more difficult now to dig up his nuts in his deepfreeze storage places in the ground. 

I put out some nuts...so he is happy today.

Snow

 It has been snowing a few days ago..

It was so beautiful to see everything covered under a white blanket. Now it's al gone again.

These birds had a beautiful covering as well.

Walking on water

This morning when I awoke, it was a little bit snowing. Not much, but I was glad to see it.

I was hoping for getting snow, just to enjoy the pure white everywhere and the calming mesmerising atmosphere when it is falling.

It had frozen as well a little bit..not much, maybe about - 2 degrees C. So there was a thin layer of ice on the pond covered with a little bit of snow.

To my amazement a couple of doves went walking on the ice! which was way too thin...

I waited with my camera to see it what's going to happen and caught the doves on camera walking on the ice. I was thinking the ice might crack under the weight of the doves! Nothing happened...even the two of them together did not sink...

They enjoyed drinking some melted water and then flew off!

Lights in the dark

 I’m so happy we passed through the shortest day of the year. 

Now we can move on to more light through the day, though with only one minute per day that’ takes some more patience to be able to notice the change.

For now, I’ve put on the lights..to enjoy the dark days and spread some more light.

Jay

Jay roaming around between the leaves. 

I gave the birds some food, however it was n't exactly meant for the jay...He always scares the smaller birds, so mostly I chase him away, but because he is so beautiful I first made a photo.

Buzzard

About a week ago, there was a beautiful buzzard, sitting in my neighbours walnut tree.

Normally they never come that close near the houses. This was a special treat that he was so close.

A few days ago, squirrel came along to find a little something. The pond was frozen and he found a nut frozen in the ice. he could not get it out...

Happily for him he found another nut outside the pond,
