Spring, springing

The beech is unfolding.

On one place of the tree, (at the bottom) the buds are thick and about to open up..
At half way up, the leaves are unfolding.
And more higher, the blossoms are coming out!

Great sight, seeing spring, springing open.

Flycatcher arrived!!!

This morning, I was just awake, I looked out of my window.
A bird came sitting on the fence.
I looked better to see what bird it was.
The flycatcher stared at me!!!
It was as if he came to tell me that he has arrived!

Such a SURPRISE!!!!!

Second robin

I also noticed, there is a second robin in my garden with 2 normal eyes.

One eye

One eye is back!

Last summer I had a robin in my garden with one eye, the right eye blind.
I named him 'One eye'
In winter the summer robins migrate to southern places
and winter robins arrive here from more northern countries, to spend winter here.
Now the summer robins are back to nest here.
I never knew robins come back to the same garden,

To my surprise One eye is back.

I think it must be the same bird.

Expecting

It's about time the flycatcher will arrive.
The last couple of days, I find myself, looking, watching...
Its time now, than he will come again.
No schedules of flight time and announcements of arrival time here.

It feels as if expecting a very good friend coming soon,
Soon arriving from a long, flight from far away country.

Just waiting till he shows up again.

Always on top

Fluffy always is sitting on top of all my things.
Especially the things I am working on.
If I am drawing, he wants to sit on my drawing paper.
When I want to write something in my agenda, he wants to sit on top of it.
Looking things up in one of my ordners, he wants to be on top of it.
So he is!
Always on top!

Stork breeding

Having a quick peek at the storks today.
One stork quietly sat a bit dozing in the lovely sunshine.
Probably breeding on some eggs.

Storks breeding

Today I went to have a look on the storks.

I heard they were having a nest on the house where I was born.

That is something very unique.

When I arrived 2 storks were flying around and curiously flew to the nest. 

so at first I thought the storks were not at home.

But then I suddenly saw 4 storks. two on the nest, 

the other 2 probably wanting to see if the nest was available.

The ones at home, were preening and making some arrangements on the nest, 

to make sure everything is in order.

Then later one flew a circle, came back 

and posted next to the one breeding, or maybe laying an egg?

Fluff drawing

This morning I wanted to make some pen and ink drawings.
As so many times before, Fluffy comes to sit on the table right nearby, to see what I am doing.
Mostly he wants to sit exactly on the things I am working on...that's why I always keep an eye on him.

This time in an unexpected moment, he walked through my (still wet) drawing.

And ruined it!!!! he made a new drawing with the wet ink on his paws instead.
I think he made a better one than mine!

Deep drinking

Fluffy loves to drink water, out of the most unusual places.
This time it is out of a jar I use in the kitchen.
He has to drink deep.
So funny to see his head disappearing.

Siskin

Today I noticed a bird, which looked like a greenfinch, but wasn't.
I looked it up.
Its a siskin as well, the male.
A few days ago I posted a pic of the female.

27 White Rabbit

(Continuing Story White Rabbit)
Immediately White Rabbit was fully awake,
meanwhile staring at the mess, he had just made again by his clumsiness
He then looked at Black Cat and Yellowbird kind of puzzled.

‘I think I have an idea’, said Black Cat, smiling, while he put back the table to its original position. 

  

‘Me and my friends are going to cook for you every day, 

untill you are able to do it yourself again.

What do you think’? he said with a big grin.

White Rabbit was silent for a while and said after a pause 

of loud thinking....‘That would be a great idea!’

Black Cat said: ‘Deal’!

They all started laughing out uncontrollably.

26 White Rabbit

(Continuing White Rabbit) after a very, very long long pause

To let Black Cats words sink in, White Rabbit stretched himself, with a deep, deep yawn.
Accidentally he pushed the table, so that it almost turned over,
but all of the things on it tumbled on the floor.

Yellow bird tried to help out, but could only watch the crashing sounds.

Not a finch...or?

At first I thought it was a finch.
But looking better I wondered no...not a finch...seen him years before...
but what is it?

In my books it most looks like a Eurasian Siskin (Sijs) (Carduelis Spinus)
By the way; He, or I think this one is a she, seems to be family from the finches.
