A slow motion view in the nest.

baby flycatcher2

baby grey flycatchers

The eggs of the grey flycatcher have hatched...
I saw the parents feeding, so that meant there is new life in the nest.
I had a quick look.

and ohh...so beautiful...so small...
little beaks no bigger than 0,5 mm.
So on the photo they look even bigger.
So helpless...so fragile... naked with few fuzzy feathers,
yet full of life when the little beaks suddenly open up.

bumbles

The grass has grown way too long,
didn't mow it in 2 weeks,

Advantage is that the clovers in the grass now are blossoming...
bending & bowing through the weight of bumbles
visiting them for a drink.

nestbox

I wonder who lives here?

owl catching a mouse

It is one thing to see an owl by daylight flying.
it is quite another thing to catch an owl on flight with the camera.

So I did see a blur of little owl..
with having a loooooooooonggg tail behind his little legs.
He surely had a mouse.

owl

Up to owls place again.
young are out...
little owl is chasing mice on clear day.

fly catcher

Grey flycatcher has been flying around for quite a while in my garden.
Every year he and she arrive all the way flying from Africa, coming to breed here.

To my surprise I saw her sitting on last years nest, in the vine
which I had kept there just for no other reason than that I like nests.
Now she has build a new layer on top!

I'm happy

Fragile life

fading away

Even in fading away...
there is still beauty.

owls place

Have been on my watchpost
for spotting little owl.
Little owl has 3 young...
all almost ready for flight.
Tried to catch a glimpse,

Watching to see her land on her favorite post,
from where she spots her mice.
till it was getting dark.......

doing nothing

Just doing nothing...

only lazing in the sun.
to enjoy!
