Finch

A finch is eating an ice crumb.

Snowtime!

When I awoke this morning, I saw a magic white world.
I was still a bit dark, so I hastend myself to sit with my coffee near the fire and the window.
I love it to see the day coming alive 
and watching snowflakes falling.
It always gives such a feeling of deep peace and quiet.

 (continuing story)

Rabbitt had walked a long way, so he thought it might be fun to have a little refreshing.
He put his backpack on the ground and stepped into the river.
The river was gently flowing in a calm pace.
He yielded to the middle of the river where he could swimm.
or even more relaxed, he floated on his back.
Slowly the river carried him away on its gentle ripples.

Rabbitt did not know what to think.

'A good thing is that everything seems more bright here!' he said to himself,
while he crossed the U-gate to continue his journey
After some time a small river was rivering along his path.

I wonder what this is? Rabbitt said out loud.
It looks like it is much brighter over there, then here.
Rabbitt passed through and bended forward to have a closer look.
'It does not make any sense' he muttered ...while his brain switched to and fro.

Rabbitt walked a long time, going out of the woods and trees.
'Hey…what is this?
This is weird!' He wondered...

It dawned on him that he could not go any further.
When he looked better, he saw that the road was blocked with piles of sand and stones.
In a twirl-like jump he turned around.
'Okey!' he said, 'No star here'
I think he must be some other place then'.
He continued his journey in a more slower pace.

(Continuing story)

Rabbitt was running very fast.
Finally reached the area of the trees, where he thought possibly the star has fallen.
But then Rabbitt stopped.

He scratched his ear…muttering….what is this?…what to do?
A sign in the road had blocked his way.
The U-turn told him to turn around!

Rabbitt 8

(Continuing story)

When he had danced and twirled arround for some time,
it was getting lighter.
The moon had fully disappeared, because the sun wanted do come.
'Maybe I can find that star!' He said, 'and see where it has fallen.
It cannot have fallen very far away', somewhere behind those trees…I guess'

Rabbitt had packed his backpack and started running towards the trees.

Rabbitt stared in the dark sky.
The moon had hidden himself behind some clouds.

'What was it what I said'; Rabbitt pondered.
'I could not wish that quick.
Let me see, so that I can say it quicker when the next star wants to fall.
I want more…
I want be better…UHmmmm'...

'I always dreamed to be a star,' he mumbled.
'I want to dance like a star…thats what I always wanted so dearly.
Being a dancing star!'.
He jumped up to see if he could still spin around.

'tarrr....A Superstar' he added, though a bit confused, not being sure,
because the star had fallen just before he could finish his wish.
He rubbed his eyes some more...as if not believing his eyes.

'I saw a falling star!!...he wondered...amazed about this unexpected experience.

Rabbitt awoke from his deep sleep.
He rubbed his eyes.

He had slept for hours!
It was already night time. 'I have slept way too long he said out loud'.

Hey! What was that?
Suddenly his eyes even widened more.
'I wish, I wannabe…a SSt' ...he stammered as fast as he could, but before he could finish his words, it was gone.

Singing robin cards

Singing robin cards are going to be published in spring! by KUNST&BILD
I am so happy that my robin is going to make his happy song heard all over Germany and german speaking countries.

Today I received from my publisher, a letter with the first prints of my singing robin cards.

The stamps on the envelop are beautiful as well!

He soon dozed away and fell in a deep sleep.
Meanwhile the moon had risen and smiled at him through the trees.

Squirrel

Some days ago, Squirrel came along to grab away the nuts I had laid out for him.
He was very happy to find so much to take away in his storage room.

Not soon after his good meal, Rabbitt thought it might be a good idea,
to take a little nap.
Just a small one, so that he could continue his journey with new strength!

Rabbitt had walked quite a distance, and got tired and very hungry.

So he sat down under a big tree to rest.

He unpacked his backpack to find something to eat and drink.

This is little Rabbitt.
He has gone out...
He has packed his backpack, because he wanted to see more of Life.

Dunnock

Dunnock is coming every day, even more than once.
Finding little snacks under the feeding table.

I like the posture of this little bird, standing steady astride.

Falling star

Yesterday night, I was talking with one of my friends on the phone.
It was already dark outside, and I had not yet the lights on.
Suddenly there was a shooting falling star in the sky…!
I was so amazed that when he had gone out, I realized how special this moment was.
It has been many, many, many years ago when I saw one realtime.
No camerashot, but in my memory it is still vivid.

Fluff

The Fluff, is always very interested, in what is happening outside.
Especially when a squirrel is roaming around.
He curiously is looking where the Squirrel is going with the nuts.

This morning Squirrel came along again.
I had no camera near by, only my coffee, my notebook and my pen.
so I scribbled a quick doodle.

He had found a piece of bread and started having his breakfast right in front of my eyes..

Squirrel

For several days, I have seen a squirrel visiting my garden.
Immediately I put some nuts out, to let him come closer…
so I might try to make some pics.
Not that easy as he is extremely fast, running away before I can even focus my camera.
Few days ago I had some nice photo's as I thought, but the light in the early morning was too dark.
So were all unsharp.
Today He came again, returning to some nuts he had not noticed before.
Most of the time he is running away with the nuts…
digging, hiding them on a far away spot.

Today he decided to eat one.
He jumped on a nice spot, for lovely pics!

Rain

Yesterday my internet connection was out. no mail, no surfing, no phone..
Today it still did not work!

I phoned my provider, and found the problem…at least it is working now again.
Yesterday it was raining all day long, not like today as it was a nice autumn day.

Woodpecker crash

This morning I heard a loud thump against the glass window.
I looked and I found Mr. woodpecker laying on the ground.
I thought he would not survive the crash.
I thought it would be better not to pick him up, maybe I would make it worse if he panicked.

He still was breathing a little bit…
But it looked so bad.
I prayed.
I had not much hope, prayed some more...
The bird was completely in a shock. He hardly noticed me coming close.
Some time later I checked on him again.
The sun was coming through and warmed him a bit, which seemed to be good, because the wind was rather cold.
Than some time later I noticed he was a tiny little bit more alive, though still in a shock, he blinked his eyes.
He sat there for a long, long time.
dozing and coming alive a little, little more.
I felt so sorry for the bird.
Than after some more hours he was gone.
Later this afternoon he came along near the peanut butter jar, but he could not fly very well.
He tried to drink some water.
Later I put some food on the ground, for him easier to pick up.
Maybe when he comes back he will find.
