Fruit
Though summer is here, it looks like he did not arrive...
Rainy cold days almost make you forget how summer looks like and feels.
But despite all rainy days, there is coming some fruit on the trees.
The Malus has already little green apples. and there are some currants coloring.
The birds have found and tasted already if they are ripe.

Crested wren
Just before getting dark,
(In fact it was already too dark,
so that these 2 photo's were the sharpest and the others all being a blur)
I noticed a very small little tiny bird...approaching the birdbath.
Quick movements....
Grabbed my camera ....a crested wren! (goudhaantje)
Don't see him often.
One of the smallest of the smallest.....
On the top photo you can see his golden yellow crest.

Nestbox inspection
Today I decided to have a look inside the nest boxes that had been left by the birds after breeding.
Bluetit nest with one egg unhatched.
some of Fluffy's hair inside.
Caoltit nest, which had been left unattended before there were eggs.
lots of Fluffy's hair inside...and some lovely pink fluff or wool.

Still in?
This morning when I awoke, I thought " Are they still in?'
I quickly looked, waited if one of the parents would come with a meal.
There he was...having a good meal...a good happy breakfast.
Breakfast is going on all morning, slightly going over to lunch, which takes all afternoon ..
going over in dinnertime, which takes so long till it gets dark.
In short: The parents are flying with meals all day long.
Sometimes meeting each other in front of the door....
checking who is going inside first...which is always quickly decided.
I even got a short glimpse of one of the baby blue tits...who was peeking outside.
I do hope they wait for me when they fly out!
