last apples

So now and than a blackbird comes to see if there are any apples left.
Most apples are gone by now,
only the apples on the most difficult places have survived.
These are sitting at the end of the branches and very difficult to get,
because the branches are too thin and wobbly.

Here is a blackbird looking if he can get one.

Great tit

Here Our coal-tit (Koolmees), which is named in English Great tit.
in the drive in for his Mac snack.

in and on the shelf

Bibi and fluffy are sleeping most of the time, this winter.
Not fun to be outside though Bibi makes his daily walk around the house.

They both discover new places in the house to sit, relax...or sleep.
The last 3 weeks Fluffy choose his favorite spot on top of the drawer.

He has great sight over the garden, when he is awake.
But most of the time he has his eyes closed.

Bibi found a new spot on a shelf in the book case.

Robin's dive

Today it was robins turn for the new years dive.

Longtails

This afternoon a group of long tail-tits came snacking...
together in the jar...is fun!

New years dive 2013

I saw him coming...hip-hopping through a nearby tree..
And there was my chance, while I was sipping my new year coffee,
I could grab my camera, without disturbing the jay,
who was planning to have his new year's dive!

How great he is in diving!
what a splash!
like a bomb...!
and then his feathers...standing out all over the place...
just looking so great!

blessings and thanks for 2012

The birds are feasting on the fat abundance treat in the jar
on the last day of the year.

I am celebrating on the good and abundance that has been in my jar of the past year.
There have been so many good things...in 2012
Knowing God as a loving Father, having great friends,(thank you all), better health, peace, joy, tears, strength to overcome sad things...and what more...too much to count.

seeds

There is not much color left...in my garden this winter.
Most browns and greens and beige-ish colors.

The rose hips are preparing their seeds for next year.

Peanut jar

These photos were made about a week ago when the jar was full.

The peanut jar is empty by now...have to put up a new one.

Parus ater

Another regular visitor to the peanuts is the Parus ater,
I now see, the english name him is Coal-tit, (zwarte mees).

In Holland we name this bird: (the Parus major)(Koolmees) a coal-tit.
kind of confusing...the our Koolmees is a Great-tit in english.
anyway...lets name him Tommy
as not to make it too confusing...

Marsh-or Willow-tit

One of the wintervisitors is this lovely bird, having a small black cap.
He is either the Willow-tit, (Matkop), (Parus Montanus), or
the Marsh-tit, (Glanskop), (Parus Palustris).
Look-alikes, only their song is different.

It is raining all day, however he is coming all the time to the feeding table.

Longtailed-tit

He is such a cute bird...
this little round ball, with a very, very long tail,
The reason he is named after his long tail.
They mostly are together, a group of friends or maybe family.
They have discovered the peanut-jar snack.
I was able to catch one, the others were too quick to sit still for a moment.

Such a cute funny bird...

Something blue

When I walked through my garden, to find something interesting for todays post...
My eye caught this something blue-ish hairy thing.
It was hanging on a branch of 'the-almost-empty-little-apple-tree'.

A question arises...
Who brought it there?
Who is missing a piece of hair or fur?

instructions for candle

One of my friends R. gave me a little candle as a present.
a small 5 cm  little owl candle.
The instructions for use which was tied to the candle is quite hilarious.

following the directions makes you smile!...

cats

Sometimes its like a movie...the 2 cats.
Bibi sitting outside in the window,
Fluffy sitting in the window inside.
Bibi trying to fight Fluffy away through the glass.
And Fluffy trying to fight Bibi though the glass.
Till mostly Bibi has had enough...and turns his back to Fluffy
to see if there is something more interesting in the garden.

Game over.
