Little wren came for a fresh cool drink...from the frozen well.

Frozen running well

Whenever possible, I keep the water well in the pond running...
Even while it is freezing 10 below zero it is still running.
The well got frozen with a beautiful icecap over the running water.
The water runs under the ice.

So the birds do have water,
because when its freezing so hard they have no place else fresh water for drinking.
Here robin comes for his dayly drink.

This night a fresh new blanket of snow has coming down.

I never saw so clearly the crystal-shape of the snowflakes in the snow.

Yesterday night it started snowing again...
The whole area covered in pure white.
Its still amazing when I woke up this morning.

On our way, my sister and I drove along a lovely road...
framed in a frosted-snowy-postcard scenery.

We saw this beautiful buzzard...
we looked at him... he looked at us,
Instead of flying off,
he turned around to show off his white breast.

It re-started freezing.
The glass vase with berries, which I had put outside, was filled with melting water from the snow.
I forgot to empty the glass vase ...to prevent from freezing.
Now all the water inside is frozen and so are all the berries.

Lovely icy flowers have come in the vase, without me putting them there.

Last night the frost has changed the garden in magic beauty.

I wonder if the birds never have cold feet...
They look so beautiful with outstanding feathers highlighted by the sun rays.

The birdbath's have become like ice cakes.

Only the well in the pond still has running water...
where the birds gratefully can have their drink.

Today the magic has disappeared into a juicy slippery ice clutter.
