12,5 year!

This morning in my mail I found this!

Such a surprise!

I had not thought of it myself...that my Iwings-blog exists today 12,5 year!

My good friend Fennie had sent me this card for reminding me. 

Later in my snail mail I found another card from her.

So special! 

That I did not think of it myself!

This day I also have been born again, 35 years ago giving my life to God in 1983.

And it was also my fathers birthday.

So this is for me a very special day of celebration.

And to my amazement, later today,

my nephew called to tell that his wife gave birth to a beautiful daughter!

Dunnock

The dunnock, (Prunella modularis), (Heggenmus.)
was feeding on my feeding table, as well as other birds like the robin, blackbirds and finches.
I made lovely photos and even of the little snowflakes fluttering around.
When I wanted to upload the photo's, I found out that my memorystick was not in the camera,
but still in my computer...
So no photo's at all! 
I did make a quick sketch of the dunnock, so that is all I have of yesterdays bird feasting.

Transformation

The whole process from being a very small caterpillar, into spinning his cocoon, going into cocoon...
and then later on from cocoon to a beautiful butterfly.
Somehow I still am amazed at the whole process when I look at it again.

Last week I received a snail-mailcard from a good friend.
The stamp on it was so nice too!

Spring

Small messengers of spring beginning to show up.

Glass/ice

Last night it has been freezing.
The water in my little pond is looking like a glass window.
Reflections of the sky and clouds in rippling glass.
Slowly the sun is melting the glassy layer.

Finch feasting on yesterdays leftovers.

Breaking out

New beginnings are breaking out.
Fresh new spears of breaking out and open.
It takes lots of courage, not knowing what is above.
Will it be cold and snowy?
or will there be warm rays of sunshine?
Staying under is not an option anymore.

High water

Its high water in Holland.
Rivers are flooding because of too much water running through.

My sister took me out to have a look.
It was beautiful sight!!!!!!!

'Looking for the green finches'
may not translate very well to english.
In dutch language, Finch is a bird as well as checkmarks, ticks.

however it is a little bit soaked by the rain.
It does not seem to bother him at all.

Continuing Frogg

After 1001 times thank you's and lots of hugs
Leopold and Frogg returned home,
both happily glowing with joy and excitement.
Leopold said, 'When I have lost something, I always want go first to the Lost & Found.'
Frogg nodded with a glowing big smile....'Me too!
I always go first to ask the great Lion!'

'Leopold, where is your crown?' asked Lion.
'My crown?' said Leopold astonished.
'I don't have one, I never had!'
'Let me try this one on you.
This one is sitting here way too long, as he took a smaller crown from the shelf.
Carefully he placed the crown on Leopold.
It fitted perfectly.

Continuing Frogg

A moment later Lion was back with a beautiful golden crown in his paws.
'Crow brought it here just a few days ago, he had found it in the woods.' he said.
'This might be the one'.
Lion placed the crown on Frogg's head.
Frogg could not believe his eyes!
It was exactly the crown he had lost!
With tears in his eyes he looked up.
'This means so much to me!' he said with a deep sigh of relief.

Snowcaps

Beginning this week, when it was awesome white,
The birds had beautiful snowcaps,
which faded during the day.

Robin

Robin sat kind of waiting...in the arch of the beech,
to go to the feeding table, waiting for his turn.
He was happily sitting, no hurry.
Feathers high up because of the snow and cold.

Icy apples

This morning...beautiful white everywhere.
Melting away too soon.
Just in time to catch a glimpse of the frozen icy apples.

Continuing Frogg

Still nervous by the big Lion,
Frogg tried to make a drawing as precise as possible.
'It is made of gold and it has 5 diamonds on top
and in the middle there are diamonds as well.
It is...beautiful and...'
'Let me see if I can find it in my storage room', said Lion.
He turned around to some shelves behind him full of things.
He took a crown from one of the shelves.
