Not easy

It is absolutely not easy for the blackbirds to pick the last apples from the tree.
Lost of acrobatic flights are needed for the final treat.
For me as well…not so easy to capture the acrobatic flights, without too much blur.

Woodpecker

This morning a beautiful turtledove came along, to see in if there was a little snack to find.
I grabbed my camera and was able to get him in my camera.
When I wanted to have a look at the photos….(GRRRRRRR!!10 times)
No memorystick in my camera!

Then later to my surprise a woodpecker came to see if there was something in the peanut butter jar!
Whaauw! Mr Woodpecker himself!
Such a beauty, such a surprise!
And how he almost disappeared in the jar…trying to reach the bottom.

I hope he comes along more often.

Rosehip

Beautiful rose hip, trying to undo frost and ice.

In between the freezing and the melting.
It looks as if the apples were dipped in a nice sugar glaze.

The apples in my neighbors garden are still hanging on a tree.
They were lovely apples I think, (maybe a bit too overripe now)

The blackbird thinks too they are yummy!

Squirrel

A visit from the squirrel!
That does not happen everyday,
or every week,
month...
even not every year anymore.
It happened in the past…some years ago almost everyday in autumn and wintertime,
but not these days.
Since some trees were removed, the squirrels moved home and since than no more squirrels.

So great was my surprise that a squirrel was looking for a little something on my feeding table.
He even looked in the peanut butter jar.
With my phone within reach I took some photos.
Sadly enough I had not my tele nearby.
Anyway... a photo is better than no photo's at all.

Release 'the doves' in 2014

I have been working on a new painting during the last days of 2013
After a period of 5 years of almost not painting.
One reason was my back pain, which caused me not to be able.
The other reason is that I am searching for a new way of expressing myself with colors and paint.
I do not think I found it, its an ongoing process.
Yet it is a fresh start and from that, maybe will come more.

The title of the painting is 'Release the doves'

When I am working on my computer or doing other things on my desk,
mostly one of the cats wants to sit close by.
They prefer to sit:
1 on my drawings,
2 on my keyboard..
3 or on my mousemat.

Today Bibi has found a piece of rope dangling out one of my books.
He thinks its very interesting…and it needs to be pulled out.

Also my neighbor cat comes everyday for a walk around my garden.

and so now and then he has a drink as well.

Robin finally discovered the mealworms, which I had bought for him a while ago.

Few days ago, it was a lovely warm day.
Sun rays chasing away the cold temperatures.
It was even warm inside behind the glass.
Bibi sat outside in the sun…
By his looks you can see how much he enjoyed it.

Few days ago, it had been freezing a little bit.
A blackbird came for a cool icy drink.

On my way home, I found a Pooh-coin in the middle of the shopping street.

He is so smart!
Of course you would say that there is a little apple sitting on the branch!

Camouflaged as autumn leaf

There he was again.
It worked!
Robin hiding, camouflaged as a living autumn leaf between the leaves.
Hardly to be seen, only by the small movements you could notice him, if you looked very well.
He was searching for a little something.

Last week, as I was in a store for animals,
I bought some mealworms for my robin.
I had noticed him for a while
but this one is so very shy and doesn't like to been seen.
Not when I want to make a photo at least.
So mealworms might be the solution.
Not so yet.
When I see him, he immediately flies off out of sight.

So a drawing will capture him a for a while.
