Squirrel busy cashing nuts.
I don't see the squirrels very often, because I forget sometimes to give them nuts.
But today I did.
And he was happy to find them. And me happy to be able to grab my camera just in time.

'Hmmm' I don't think that's a good idea, because when its gets colder the central heating will make it maybe too warm for them, so that they wake up again.
Weird enough, several years ago, another group of ladybirds did the same thing and sat hibernating on the same spot!
I don't think they are the same ladybirds, but another generation. 3 years ago.
Why do they take the same spot? There are lots of other places....
I posted in 2022 a post on 24-10-22 with a group of ladybirds sitting there on the same spot. Isn't that weird?
And here I found another group on the same spot back in 2016
It does not make sense to me at all. Does anyone know?
Doing a lot of doing nothing...Time to reflect and process.
Squirrel in the meantime is cashing his nuts. I'm happy he comes back, after he discovered there are still nuts, without the neighbors nut-tree.
Every day I throw some nuts outside and he is happy finding them. storing them in pots and between plants and in the ground in the grass. I love watching him as always.
A week agoI fell to the ground, which is not good for me.
Have been 3 days in hospital and now trying to recover again. That’s quite an experience.
dealing with broken bone and a badly injured knee. That was not on my agenda.
It does not feel very comfortable. Besides that the painkillers almost knocked me out because of the morfine in it. Being small and than given a too high dose, does help for the pain, but side effects of fainting, being dizzy and having hangover's, makes it far worse than it is.
Anyway. It takes time to get me on the go again. Maybe from here I can do some doodles.
So enchanting...
The English version and the Dutch version.
Available tomorrow on Amazon.
From my bedroom window I can see this leaf in heart shape, slowly changing colors.
I mostly don't like saying goodbye to summer, but there is no return.
I think this heart shape is a lovely symbol for the coming season, telling me to enjoy and love this.
I really miss them.
Last year the wall-nut tree of my neighbors died and has been cut down.
That's very bad for me and the squirrels. Or vice versa, bad for the squirrels and me.
I don't know who to mention first here.
Now I'm trying to get the squirrels back, by putting out some nuts I have collected.
Maybe they will be surprised to find nuts, even when the tree has gone.
Yesterday a dark-brown red squirrel found some of the nuts.
He quickly cashed them in pots and hiding them in the grass.
I hope he will come back soon to find more.
Playing with the Light and being hit by the Light?
Looks fun to me!
I was wondering/pondering his the next day, after I had made the first drawing.
So, I made this drawing to make it more reality and visible.
Please, let me know what you think in the comments...
It's like sitting under a heavy bolder.
It was a day like that. Nothing wrong, lovely sunshine...but everything feels heavy for no particular reason.
I decided to make a doodle, because doing nothing felt very boring as well.
This came out... playing with the Light.
I don't have the original anymore, because I sent it to her and forgot to make a photo.
But I do have the sketch.
Dromen, means to dream in dutch language.
This dromedary is dreaming about happiness, joy, lots of fun and delight.
A while ago I published the English, 'Polly finds a berry.'
Now I did the dutch version as well. 'Polly vindt een besje.'
So now available n English and Dutch. Both for children and adults.
Check them out on Amazon
I saw him doing this tree times in a row. The first time I was not able to capture.
But knowing this was gone be fun, I quickly grabbed my camera.
On purpose the dove jumped into the water. It was not accidentally that he fell in. It's hilarious to see how he gets to the other side.
He swam with only a few wing-beats through the water to cross.
I really love watching this. I hope you too!
There is one special dove who sometimes wants to swim too!
Today was the day.
He let himself fall into the water and YES!
He swam to the other side of the pond. It's do deep to stand, but he has learned swimming.
Not all doves do that. But this one is very special.
It's a lovely sight.
I had gotten this plant, from a dear friend of mine, for my birthday a few months ago.
Over the weeks I noticed one small bud and then later the bud becoming bigger.
So I wanted to keep an eye on it.
This morning I noticed, it wanted to open!
And when I looked half an hour later, it had opened more!
I decided to stay for a while near the flower, to see it's progression, opening up.
It's fantastic to see that happening within an hour.
This week I remembered, wanted to make a post, forgot it again as the days fly by so quickly.
Today I received a snail-mail card of one of my best friends, who sent me a celebration-card!
Thank you F!
I still remember the IWINGS-First-Flight as yesterday.
Blogging was new, and having an illustrated blog back then...I had not seen them in that time very much.
At that time there were only written blogs. It was really a challenge.
I think it was actually August 6th 2005 that I took my first flying-lesson.
It feels this morning, that autumn has made a little step forward, wanting slowly to take over.
I somehow want to hold on summer. The warm temperatures and the long sunny shiny days I love more.
As well as the bright summer-colors of all the flowers.
Though autumn might have that too, however it slowly wants to fade it all into greys and dulled colors.
I need to fix my eyes on todays beauty.
