weird creature

Looking out of my window, I see a weird creature trying to eat from some branches.
a while ago it had two eyes, but he lost one because of the stormy winds.

About a week ago, when it was freezing and cold.

snow feather

 Overnight a white thin layer of snow lay everywhere.
I love the sight of fresh fallen snow.

I wondered how the yesterdays fluffy feather was doing.
It was now sunk a bit into the ice and looked like frozen all over.

Feather

While sitting before my window with my coffee,
suddenly a beautiful white feather came floating through the air
and landed on the ice of my pond.
Such a beautiful sight!

Frost patterns

The pond has gotten beautiful patterns in the ice overnight.

Eurasian Sparrow hawk

While visiting a friend, and having tea.
We noticed a Sparrow hawk (Sperwer) chasing the sparrows.
In no time he catched one.
He did not mind us watching behind the window.
He was too much focussed on his prey.
He made a mess of the feathers and soon he had his happy meal.

Never had seen a Sparrow hawk so close
I only had my phone and not my other camera.

Carrierdoves

The carrier doves are flying in circles and eights around my house.

It looks to me they are flying around with wild enthusiasm and joy!

Reflections on my window

feather-seed

A featherlike seed was on the floor n my house.
It probably had traveled along under my shoe.

It looks like the seed is attached to a wing in order to go places beyond.

Little wren

I don't see him very often.
The little wren (winterkoning) is mostly so quick, when you look he's gone.
So also this morning.
One short moment and gone.
So I doodled him also in a short moment.

Autumn has left and Winter has announced its coming for a while.
This week its marks and signs are proof that he has made his entrance.

Leaves, leaving

Loads and loads of leaves have fallen from my beech tree.
I tried to blow them into a pile for the container.
However there are still lots and lots on the tree.

Cat-nap

This time the Fluff has found another place for His daily nap.
It looks way more comfortabele than the small box of some days ago.

For I while I had kept the box for Fluffy,
But he seemed not so interested.
Until today, he found it  a very good place for his nap.

Frog

While cleaning the pond, and fishing out the leaves,
I noticed a small frog panicing swimming in circles, ready to escape.
It was clear he did not know how to survive, by going around in circles.
So with my little net I caught him out and put him in the grass.
A bit dizzy and confused he sat there for a while.
When I looked again to see if he was still there, he was gone.
