Song trush

This morning, while sipping my coffee, looking outside,
a stunning beautiful songtrush came to have a sip of water…

Where did he came from?
All winter long I have not seen them.
And there he was….such a beauty!

One of the blackbirds in my garden was standing on tiptoes to be able to reach the apple.

First ladybird this year

When doing some gardening and removing old leaves...
I discovered 2 ladybirds coming out of their hibernation.
The first one very small, the second a lookalike, only a little bigger.

Blue Trail

A looooonnnngggg blue trail….

That was what I saw, when I walked into my studio this morning.

Everywhere I looked on my drawing table on the floor, …there was a long blue trail.

I wondered who was the one, who thought who could paint too!

That was not so difficult to find out.

I looked under Fluffy's paws….no blue sign.

I looked under Bibi's paws…There it was!

Proof under his paw!

Little wren

I noticed our smallest little bird in one of my pots….
looking for yummy yummy.
I don't see him very often, but when I notice him, my heart always jumps up with joy.
He is so small and quick…so that it is not so easy to catch him.
But today he remained just long enough to get him.

There he was again today for a short visit.

Thump

I heard a little thump agains the window.
Saw something falling down.
Immediately I knew it must have been a bird.

Outside I found him lying down …legs up.
I held it in my hands for a while.
Lovely warm little birdy…gasping for air.
I held it a while longer…
The bird did not seem to notice.
After some more time I noticed he was a bit more alive.
He reacted a bit, though not very much.
I went inside to grab my camera.
It was all okay for the bird…he did not mind.
I noticed, he moved his eyes when he heard the sound of my camera clicking.
He was able to sit again and then slowly he started to recover.
Sigh, sigh... to my relief.

After some more time, he was able to fly away!

It was robin singing his daily morning song.

Turtle dove 2

Turtle dove

As it has been colder, the Turtle dove comes more regulary.
But he is so very shy, that any movement on my behalf or the cats behind the window
makes him fly off.
But somehow he seems to become less frightened, and I was able to catch him with my camera.
Maybe its the food that draws him near..and also he often comes for a drink...
when it is not frozen, like this morning.
He is such a beauty!

Last week I discovered there are 2 robins in my garden.
Its hard to tell which is who and who is which.
