Autumn

The fruit of autumn has arrived.

The last couple of weeks I was in denial that summer had gone out.
because the weather was still warm and lovely, but somehow...
I felt and smelled autumn in the air.

flowers again

A few weeks ago I radically pruned the wisteria (blauwe regen),
because it grew tho wild.
Only 2 weeks later flowers appear again on the tree.

This is the 4th time this year, that it starts blossoming after a radical prune session.

crashed dragonfly

Today a dragonfly crashed against my window.
He sat there a long time on the ground, seeing stars all around.
I picked him up because Bibi thought it was a nice toy to play with.
He hardly moved, trying to flap his wings.

I think I could feel what he felt.
I twisted the other day my foot and saw all the stars of the universe.
Its not fun.

Drinking

    

Everyday, there are visitors coming in my garden.
The wood pigeons love to come for a drink.
And Bibi also loves it.

SongThrush beating a snail

Just when I looked outside,
I saw that a Song Thrush (Zanglijster) was busy preparing his meal.
He was having a snail for dinner.

Young robin

Young robins (born this year) have not a red breast yet.
They are speckled.
Later in the year the red dots become bigger, so that next year they are clothed with a beautiful red breast.

Willow Warbler

A Willow Warbler (Fitis) is searching yummy things
between the leaves and flowers of the Foeniculum (Venkel).

sunshine ...rain

One moment there is sunshine,
another moment...drops of rain falling.
Sunshine again...rain again...
and so on and on and on.

Blackbird

Map butterfly

A few days ago I noticed this black butterfly in my garden.
After inspection I found out it is a Map butterfly, (Landkaartje)
A second generation.
The first maps (flying earlier in spring) are orange with black spots,
The summer maps are black with white spots.

Iwings 8

Iwings has become 8!
Eight years of traveling around on the www.
Bibi and Fluffy are having a free ride today on iwings chariot...

3 storks

This morning there were 3 storks flying and circling around in the air.
Also a moment above my house.
I wonder what they were bringing...

Bee drinking

Not only birds come to have a drink in the birdbath.
This morning a beautiful Bee came to have a cool refreshing sip.

doves visiting

Everyday some doves are coming for a drink in the water.

Woodpigeons and turtle-doves.

Always when I see them coming, I hold my breath and don't try to move.

Especially the turtledoves are very shy.

Making a photo will chase them away immediately because of the shutter sound.

A quick scribble will do too.
