I don' t see him very much...
so now and then I catch a quick glimpse of him.
looking around to see is there is something to find for lunch.

birds under snow

After the snow shower, all my birds were covered under a thick white pack of snow.
Happily snow is not a heavy load.
But somehow they prefer too...not to carry any extra load.
so today they shook all heavyness off.

When I looked outside this morning,
a beautiful white blanket had covered my world.
Only birds like colored dots flying to and fro.
This Male finch beautifully shines off his rusty bronze breast.
His colors are even more shiny in the white.

Its soon mating-time and he has already put on his perfect outfit for the girls.

drinking finch

The water in the birdbath is all frozen again.
Because of this, birds have no water to drink.

I poured out some fresh water in one of the birdbath.
It froze al little again, but not enough to freeze all over.
The birds are happy...and many are coming to have a drink.
Here a she-finch enjoying the drink.

It was snowing a little, very small tiny little snowflakes were falling.
The sun rays highlighted the little tiny flakes...
as if silver dust was falling all over the place.

Willow tit

This bird comes regular every day to find a little something.
The Parus Montanus, (Willow tit), (Matkopmees)
It looks like he wears a little kipa on his head.
Maybe that's why he has a special warm place in my heart.

Spring time arrived

Spring has come...

I hear it in the air.
Birds being busy having inspection in the birdhouses.
I see it in my garden, though the dead pieces of plants are still there.
I can almost hear the buds on the trees growing
and the leaves of the plants coming out.
The crocus are appearing...

I feel it in the air...everything has a tingling, bursting open... atmosphere...
I love it!
can't wait...

Home 4 U

Today is spring weather...warm nice sunshine and birds tweeting better than twitter.
Can't wait that birds go nesting.
I replaced an old birdhouse today, (no bird wanted to breed in this nest box...
so there had to be something wrong with that old bird house.)

2 weeks ago I bought a new house for the birds, and restyled it a bit.
Today I fixed it ...so now its waiting who is coming for inspection.

Bibi is very interested in the birds outside, who have their meals at the feeding table.

Rare visitor

This week I noticed a bird that I did not know very well.

He was gone too quickly before I could find out.

However this morning I saw him again...and Yes...a rare visitor...of which I did not know exactly his name...

After looking in my books....I found out...it is a Brambling, (Keep), (Fringilla Montifringilla),

a very beautiful bird, looking a bit like a finch, which is one of his family members.

I think I name him Brammetje.

Heart

When I finished my breakfast this morning, I noticed a heart shape in my empty bowl.
My friend K. said it also could be a swimming dog...

I better prefer, it is a heart.

It was as if a little somebody had made nice cute snowman outside in the snow.

The nuthatch is balancing up side down...for the peanut butter.

Snow again...trying to take over, from the early spring rays.
Robin comes curiously closer, to see if there is something for a snack.
I had not yet been such an early bird, to set the table for him.

He was gone as quickly as he arrived.

An Anemone is peeking out, to see if spring has already arrived...

Spring flowers

Last year I had cut some branches with rose hips from my MayThorn tree.
One of the branches I had put outside for the birds to pick on the rose hips
Another branch I had placed inside, in my room.
I had noticed, before I left to Israel that some leaves had grown out.

When I came back...however...
I was astonished to see that flowers had come out on this branch.
Together with the rose hips it is joyfully blossoming!
Amazing!

Lions on the street

I met several lions on the street.

Doves have made there their permanent residence.
building their home (nests) in the clefts of the Wall.
