Longtails

Almost everyday the long tail-tits come along for a peanut snack.

On the middle photo you can see...their long long tails,

like a round fluffy ball on a long stick.

It has been freezing.

Everywhere the water is frozen.

Only the water in the running water birdbath has water.

The birds now come here to have a fresh drink.

spring???

If you did not know better,

you would think spring has arrived, when you look in my garden.

However the weather forecast man promised freezing....

I do hope it will not be very long, because these fragile crocus,

will have a very hard time surviving the cold temperatures below zero.

But today is today...

spring is in the air...I even heard the birds singing!

A few apples have survived the feasting blackbirds.

I think they will not stay there very long...

Acrobat

Its going fast,

The blackbirds think its time.

The small red apples are the best yummy choice these days...

Many apples have found their way into the beaks of the blackbirds.

Okay...the apples are not for free.

You have to do something before you can have the treat.

a little effort,

some acrobatic tours....

But than you have something!

Jumping, dancing rain in the birdbath.

Its raining, raining.....raining....

nothing but pouring down rain...and splashing drops.

Crested tit

A very special guest, who comes regular for peanuts last couple of weeks

it is the Crested tit, Parus Cristatus, Kuifmees.

He has a crest on his head, which makes him very special.

On the photo however he has put it down,

maybe to be able ,without spoiling his crest to pick out the peanuts out of the jar.

peanutbutter

A while ago, I put up a bottle of peanuts,

I had heard birds love it.

With some ty-straps it is easily put on a branch.

Since the birds discovered the peanut butter ,(I put in it some whole peanuts a well)

its very busy around the tree.

Even robin loves it!

Robin again

When I drink my coffee in the morning,

and meanwhile look outside at the birds, with still sleepy, wandering thoughts,

its always fantastic that robin is present.

He always finds a new place to perch on.

My day begins good.

Now it gets colder and freezing a little,

the birds are coming more to the feeding table.

Robin regulary visits a fat ball in the tree.

Here he loves to come, meanwhile very on the alert for intruders.

Blue-tit sitting/waiting for his turn.

One of the pigeons has lost a feather.

There he is again,

my firy red robin...looking for a snack.

Watching tv

Recently the Fluffy discovered watching tv.

While sitting on my table he has a perfect view.

He likes watching all the movements,

especially flying things like birds or moving things.

Sometimes he tries to catch these moving things, but I think that is not a very good idea.

When it gets bad for my screen, I flip the tv out...

Then he looks quite disturbed...seeing him thinking..where was I?

Tonight he was very interested in watching the stars and so.

crocus out

It is kind of weird, funny and unusual.

It is hardly mid January

The sun just shot some shiny sundays out

and immediately the little tiny fragile crocus are out too.

Shining their bright purples amidst the bright greens.

Acting as if spring is here!

Berries out

The Fluffy thought last night it was time for the berries to go out.

He loves to play with the berries

He managed to pull the the little branches out of the vase.

He pulled the berries off the branches

and started playing.

Of course that was very funny.

Long tailed-tit

Today a group of long tailed tits ,(staartmees) came along.

You always see them together, kind of family.

They were gone too soon.

so that I only had change to capture one of them.
