reflections in 2008

One day to go for the year of 2008
having made the year full circle
or better said 2 full circles as what the 8 is made of.
a day of reflections back over the year.. .
Having lived His-story.

frozen icicles

The birdbath is completely frozen,
yet,... while freezing the water continued to overflow
and formed beautiful iceles all over

To be honest,
robin was very more interested in an icedrink than skating.
but that was part of the deal.

It has frozen so hard that the birdbath is completely frozen.
robin came to see if the ice was strong enough for skating.

Oh yeh... it is!

ice crystals

After freezing some more last night,
there had formed beautiful ice-crystals on my blue table.

A blackbird shows exactly how to drink.
I realy like to watch all of his expressions.

As almost all water is frozen outside,
The birds come drinking from the well,
that keeps flowing even when it freezes.

I heard him singing again
as a matter of fact, the only bird that sings these winterdays is robin.

I think he sang a X-mas song for today
about Immanuel, which means: God is with us.

Tommy and Bibi don't mind.
They think its quite cosy sleeping and sitting around or on top.

Me lying on the sofa all day
wrapped under my blue blanket...either freezing or too warm.

prelude for X-mas

All kinds of guirlandes and balls have been put up in the trees and plants
it looks like a prelude for X-mas.

I like these ones way more than all the glitter balls in X-mas trees.

bathing

This week I was lucky to spot robin having his bath.
This is not so simple, because most of the times when I try to make a photo ,
he is gone before I even get a chance.

A spider had woven a long thread from a tree to a plant.

Wind and sun played with the tread as if it were a string of an instrument
changing colors like a rainbow

I cut the rest of the cheese into pieces for the birds...

As soon as I had put the cheese on the feeding table
I saw Bibi snif-snif-snif with his nose in the air.
A few minutes later, he sat on the birdtable...playing for bird

gone out

As I was gone out for the day....and returned home,

I found this on the kitchen floor.
There is only one in the house who can be the perpetrator,
and he is laying pretending sleeping very innocent,
as if nothing has happened while I was gone.

hide and seek

Robin and I are often playing hide and seek.
It has become a kind of a sport to click-clack him in my camera.

He goes in hiding as soon as he sees me with my camera.
Here he is trying to hide behind the branches of the beech,
meanwhile keeping carefully an eye on me and I on him,
pretending as if we don't see each other...
