What's up for dinner today?

ice-bath

The birdbath still a bit frozen,
but the longtailed-tit decided it was time for a bath.
I managed to come a little closer after each photo.
but of course they don't like me spying them out while bathing.
so they left...as soon as I took another step forwards.

Looking out of my window,
I saw squirrel posing on a tree stump, sniffing out the air.
sitting there like a life-statue.

when I tried to come nearer for a closer-up
my life-statue ran away

enjoy the moment

It was 'enjoy-the-moment-weather' for Tommy
and all of us today.

saving ladybirds

Inside on the window in my kitchen, were running 2 ladybirds,
trying to get trough the glass, which of course failed.

I decided to save them by putting them outside, as they wanted.
I caught them on a piece of paper,
put them in a petri-glass & brought them outside.
For a while they ran around on the edge of the glass, going in circles,
till the wind caught their wings.

Cold outside, windy autumn weather,
Bibi is waiting outside for his meal, sitting on the table in front of my window.

I saw him putting his front paws on his tail...for keeping them warm.

Of course Bibi knows the best drinking spots in and around the house.

this time he found the water for washing my brushes.
Fortunately his head fits exactly in the blue vase.

To make it even more complicated...
a week or so ago I saw this one, being a meal, for whom?

which does not seem to be bites from a squirrel, nor a birds beak bite?
who can tell?

pop-ups and a bite

When I checked today my mail,
I saw at the foot of a tree close-by 5 red young toadstools...
again red toadstools!
which weren't there a few days ago
instantly they have popped up, between the leaves,
which have been falling on-and-on, the last couple of days

of course I was interested in the bite on one of them
looking here like a bite of a birds beak...
which unsettles it all...if it wasn't the squirrel
