orange tip

The orange tip (Anthocharis cardamines) butterfly is roaming around in my garden...
beautiful orange & white wings when he opens his wings.
when closed he is perfectly camouflaged..
he was so tame I could aproach him very close...
I could even touch him, while he was drinking his nectarjuice.

pied flycatcher

The flycatcher has picked out a nestbox in my garden.
for his new family.
It is not the best nestbox...I have...
yet he might know best for himself.

quick bath

This morning I spotted my robin
who was having a bath in the birdbath.
Always when I try to capture him, he takes off...as soon as possible,
as being aware of being noticed.
I only could grabb a few photos for you of his splashing.

beech

The beeches decide 'en mass' to break out.

It is amazing to see how the newly born leaves are perfectly wrapped...
see these tiny little soft hairs...making it soft and safe...as not to disturb the fellow-leaves..

Every year it is a delight for me to see these leaves unwrap.
with their perfect folded leaves...
impossible to wrap them back in the package.

pied flycatcher

Yesterday I spotted for the first time this year the Pied Flycatcher (bonte vliegevanger)
Of course when I grabbed my camera, he was gone.
so I doodled him as he was in my minds eye.

I looked up when I spotted him my garden last year, 2007
It was 19-th of april.
The year before that(2006) it was 17 april.
Yesterday it was 18 april!
What a timing! arriving all the way from Africa!
without computers!...and GPS !

the shack

I ordered a book, recommended by hearsay, not exactly knowing what to expect.
The Shack, written by William P.Young.
Today it arrived in my snailmailbox.

I started reading , blown away in the book all day...
being only half-way in the book: its a must-read.
The Love of God transcending your imagination.

The shack wrestles about the timeless question
"Where is God in a world so filled with unspeakable pain"?
